What is BOID (Beneficial Owner Identification Number)
Beneficial Owner Identification Number (BOID) It is a unique identification number given to BO which is generated only when BO opens the demat account in CDSC through an authorised DP. BOID must be mentioned in all future transactions. BOID cannot be duplicate. It means two BOs cannot have same BOID which replicates that the securities cannot be transferred into the wrong account. Sample of BOID DP ID (8 digits) CLIENT ID (8 digits) 1 3 0 1 0 6 0 0 0 0 0 7 0 2 2 2 It has 16 numbers altogether. The first 8 digits refers to the DP or it is the DP code and the second is client code.
